Bournemouth striker, Callum Wilson is set to be on the sidelines for 6 months after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament against Stoke on Saturday.
Wilson who will be having surgery next week then followed by rehabilitation is Bournemouth's top scorer with 5 goals so far this season.
This latest setback for Manager, Eddie Howe is his third already this season as fullback, Tyron Mings, has already been ruled out for the rest of this season after he injured his anterior and medial ligaments of his knee. Then the Ivorian, Max Gradel, also suffered a similar knee injury while playing in the game against Leicester in August. Gradel will be out for the rest of 2015.
The official premier league statistical index rates Wilson as the top performing striker in the top flight.
" It's very disappointing for Callum after what has been an exceptional start to the season, but I am sure that he will come back fitter and stronger." Said Howe.
