France internationals, Mathieu Valbuena and Karim Benzema have been left out of the French squad to face Germany and England his month during the international break.
France manager, Didier Deschamps has stated that Valbuena is not in the right frame of mind to be involved in the French squad after attempts were made to extort money from him.
Benzema, the principal suspect in the investigation, has been placed under formal investigation by French Police in relation to a sex tape involving Valbuena. Benzema is currently not fit to appear for France as he is out with a thigh injury.
Benzema who maintains his innocence has been questioned by police and has been banned from contacting Valbuena or anyone charged in the case.
Deschamps stated that he chose to leave Benzema out after speaking to him as he was not physically ready to play. He also said he was not aware of the investigation of Benzema and would allow the police handle the situation.
